About a minute before class students will hear the sound of an orchestra warming–up. That means students should get settled and stop talking. By the time the music ends there should be complete silence.

A student is randomly chosen to begin each class, and will be announced ahead of time. When the warm–up music begins this student should come to the front of the class. They are to first lead the class in the following chant, but they should not begin until there is complete silence. Any student making noise when the music ends will be asked to come see me after class.

First the student will lead this chant and they they will answer a question assigned to them previously.

Teacher: Who cares about you?

Class: Dr. Norwood!

Teacher: What do we pursue?

Class: Economic wisdom!

Teacher: What will it require?

Class: Self–discipline!
